Howard University

Founded in 1867, this private, research university is located in Washington, D.C. The university has 12 schools and colleges for 10,500 students to pursue undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees in more than 120 areas of study.

The University continues to attract the nation’s top students and produces more on-campus African-American Ph.D.s than any other university in the United States. Since 1998, the University has produced two Rhodes Scholars, A Truman Scholar, a Marshall Scholar, 19 Fulbright Scholars and 11 Pickering Fellows.
